One item, one QR identity

Track the physical unit—not just the product name.

ShowTrack assigns a distinct identity to every received item. Scanning that QR tag can bring its purchasing source, receipt, cost, inventory status, and sale history back together.

At receiving

Create the inventory record while the item is in hand.

Open a purchase-order receipt on a phone, select the expected category, and point the camera at the item’s QR tag. A successful scan adds that physical unit to the receipt and confirms it on screen.

Distinct identities Two physically similar items still receive separate unit records.
Receipt context The unit is recorded against the active receipt and purchase order.
Cost continuity The goods cost associated with the received unit remains available for later reporting.
Immediate confirmation The camera workflow shows whether the intended tag was accepted.
Across the inventory life cycle

The same tag answers different questions later.

RECEIVED

Where did it come from?

Supplier, purchase order, receipt, category, who received it, and the recorded date.

ON HAND

Is this exact unit available?

Current status, cost, age, and the source records behind the inventory entry.

SOLD

Which sale did it become?

Post-show scan sequence, matched marketplace sale, estimated fees, and profit context.

Post-show reuse

Use the same identity when the item leaves inventory.

The QR tag is not scanned during the live show. Afterward, the operator scans sold tags in the physical sale-tag sequence, allowing ShowTrack to change the exact unit from received to sold and associate it with the correct show sale.

The tag remains useful after the sale.

A tag lookup can show the item’s origin, receiving details, recorded cost, status, and matched sale history from one unit record.
